You’ll play jazz the way it was meant to be played - in a combo setting. You’ll get the chance to solo, comp, and improvise with a group of adult musicians at a similar skill level.
When you’re ready, you’ll take on some gigs. Some of our students keep jazz as a hobby, many start bringing in money from all the gigs they play. Ask us about our student success stories.
Here’s how it works: Bands meet for two hours, twice a month, year round. We have convenient locations in Annapolis and Washington, DC. We play classic American jazz ranging from swing to be-bop, and Dixieland to fusion. Groups are led by Director Jeff Antoniuk, Amy Shook, Fred Hughes and visiting Guest Artists.
Learn to be a contributing member of a band, enjoy tons of playing and put all your hours of private study and practice to good use. When your group has worked up enough music, 
you’ll play in a public venue for your friends and family to hear.
The fee is $70 per person for each two-hour session. This covers rehearsal space, music preparation, logistics, scheduling and Guest Artists.
